Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) challenges are becoming increasingly complex and difficult for organizations all around the world. Proliferating regulations, stakeholder activism and corporate sustainability issues are putting businesses at risk. Each organization’s ability to address these tough challenges depends largely upon its ability to access and manage information. Fortunately, as ESS software users and partners, you and the other EXPO attendees are already leaders in the practical use of advanced information systems and best practices for EH&S management.

Attendees heard why the recent IHS acquisition of ESS makes so much sense. More importantly, see how our newly combined EH&S team will be able to do even more to help your organization achieve your sustainability goals for today and tomorrow.

The IHS vision is to become your trusted sustainability partner by serving as the source of critical information and insight that powers growth and value for your organization. IHS is unique in the marketplace in its ability to give companies the means to combine internal operational data with external information to support strategic decision-making around sustainability solutions for EHS and climate change. We look forward to continuing our work together.

Making Sustainability Work:

Integrated EH&S Platforms Transform Challenges into New Efficiencies

Global climate change and greenhouse gas (GHG)emissions. Regional water shortages and industrial wastewater. Overflowing landfills and hazardous waste. The headlines are filled with unprecedented threats to our environment and our people. New legislation and regulations are coming. Each issue represents another challenge for business and industry. Companies face urgent demands for transparency and accountability from a swelling crowd of government regulators, watchdog groups and stakeholders – including customers, employees and investors.

Environmental, health & safety (EH&S) data is at the heart of enterprise sustainability. Unfortunately, all of the hype surrounding sustainability can make it harder to know how to manage critical EH&S information. Some companies try to address hot-button issues like GHG emissions with disparate

systems – leading to unnecessary proliferation, complexity, risks and costs. Industry leaders, however, are treating today's urgent new challenges as opportunities to establish a broad foundation for sustainability management. They are implementing flexible, scalable, integrated EH&S software platforms that leverage master data across multiple applications, enhancing operational efficiency and assuring data integrity. They are turning sustainability into a driver for business success.

Attendees heard Gartner's featured expert on EH&S information management views this trend and how you can apply its lessons in your organization.
